The Rawalpindi city district government is planning stern action against all those fake housing societies which have been involved in plundering people. Hamid Nawaz Raja, Nazim Potohar Town stated this while talking to reporters here on Thursday.
He said that people should be cautious of those housing schemes that are looting their lifetime's savings by false temptations through media. The people could not be held completely responsible for the dilemma of fake housing schemes but negligence of some government departments in the past resulted in mushroom growth of these housing societies.
He said that many housing societies were working without any permission from the concerned departments while many others have no piece of land in their possession.
He said that many societies have not obtained NoC from the government which include Gulistan-e-Battagram, Gulistan-e-Islam, Al-Khurram Block, Mubashir Town, Green Valley, Gulshan-e-Kashmir, Khan Model Town, Sara Town, Green City, Jafaria Town, Pindi Dairy Town, Gulshan-e-Shahryar, Pak PWD Housing Scheme, New Islamabad City, Daniyal Town, Imtiaz Town, Pir Mehar Ali Shah Town, Motorway Town, Shadabad, Saad Town, Sanam Valley, Qartaba Farming, Hina Town, Gulshan-e-Sangrial, Dubai City, Gulf City, New Iqra City, Asia Housing Scheme, Al-Jannat City, Peace City and PARC Cooperative Housing Society.
Nazim urged PTCL, WAPDA, and SNGPL and other service providing departments not to provide the basic amenities to these fake housing societies. He said the Potohar Town Administration has rejected the cases for approval of four housing societies including Wuller City, Al-Rahim City, Classic City and Posh City on technical grounds.
Some housing societies have already submitted their cases for approval with the Town Administration but they have been asked to fulfil all the legal requirements and attach required documents with their cases, he added.
He said that cases for government's approval regarding eight housing schemes Al-Haram City, City Model Town, PAEC Housing Foundation, Rabia Residency, Memon Constructions, Qartaba City, Chinar Valley and Formaide City have been forwarded to the concerned committee for issuing approval letters and NOC's.
