Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has jumped up to become the second best bowler in Twebty20 cricket in the latest ICC Rankings for bowlers.
Following Pakistan’s 3-1 series win over West Indies, Imad who picked up six wickets in the series jumped up two places to claim the spot. With 780 points in the kitty, the all-rounder is just 15 points short of the number-one ranked Imran Tahir, the leggie from South Africa.
Other Pakistani bowlers to make significant gains included Wahab Riaz who sits at 40th position, after jumping three places up in the ranking table.
Pakistan’s latest spin sensation Shadab Khan too made a debut on the ICC Rankings, entering at 117th position after producing player of the series performance against the West Indies in the recently concluded T20 series.
The teenager was the most successful bowler in the series with 10 wickets.
Meanwhile, in the batting department Pakistani middle order batsman Babar Azam, who was the leading run maker for Pakistan in the four-match series with 137 runs, has made impressive gains in the ICC Player Rankings for T20I Batsmen and has jumped 41 places up to a career-high 27th position.
Opening batsman Ahmed Shahzad too has been impressive and currently sits at 29th spot, after moving up by five places. India’s Virat Kohli remains the top ranked batsman in the T20 cricket.
