Auqaf department Punjab has set up 15 model religious madrasas in different cities of the province including provincial capital. Punjab Minister for Auqaf Syed Saeedul Hassan, addressing a seminar at a local hotel on Thursday, said the madrasas adjoining shrines of noted religious personalities of the sub-continent would provide increased opportunities of religious learning to the students.
He said the Auqaf department planned to establish 15 more model seminaries during the current fiscal year, which apart from religious education would also provide education in information technology and modern at government expense.
The minister urged all madrasa students to imbibe and promote true Islamic values of peace, tolerance and justice, and prove to be role models for the country's youth. A number of Ulema and religious scholars addressed the seminar.
