President of PML(N) Punjab, Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, has said that PML(N) Punjab has invited applications from persons seeking party tickets for the coming general elections for Provincial and National Assemblies. Applications will be received from August 5 to 20.
Imran Liaquat, Secretary Information PML-N said that the decision regarding issuance of tickets would be taken by Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif on the recommendation of provincial and national parliamentary board.
The board, after the announcement of schedule of interview of the candidates, will prepare its recommendations and present the same to party leadership. He said that recommendations of district and city bodies would be honoured.
Pakistan Muslim League (N) acting president Javed Hashmi has described the deal between President Musharraf and Benazir Bhutto as 'murder of democracy' and said that his release was a clear indication of independence of judiciary. "Now everyone would get justice and Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif would soon be among us." Talking to party workers and his friends in the lobby of Adiala Jail on Friday, he said that it was the second historic judgement after Chief Justice reference case and his release would emerge positive effects on the country's politics.
He said that PPP had always opposed the dictatorship and supported democracy, and added that PPP workers had given sacrifices for restoration of democracy, but Benazir had deceived them by entering into a deal with President Musharraf. He said the country was passing through a critical phase, and Musharraf had become a security risk for the country. He said that he would go to the parliament first of all, then move to home in Multan.
