Law Minister Wasi Zafar has said that former Attorney General of Pakistan, Makhdoom Ali Khan has resigned at his free will and there was no pressure whatsoever on him.
Talking to PTV the minister said that there was nothing wrong with the performance of state counsels during the hearing of reference against Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry that prompted a decision against government.
He said the courts function according to their discretion and it is every days routine that a lawyer comes triumphant at the end of trial while the other looses. The decisions of courts are however binding on all the parties and they cannot be termed as victory of defeat for anyone.
