Traders staged a demonstration against US Republican presidential candidate Tom Tancredo, who had suggested a US attack on Muslim holy places and said that Muslim Ummah and OIC should take notice of Tancredo's utterances who had said that US government should bomb Mecca and Madina in Saudi Arabia if terrorists use nuclear weapons to attack American cities.
The demo was led by Tariq Mehmood Malik Chairman of Multan Traders Alliance. Participants shouted slogans against the US, "Not to Make Pakistan a scapegoat," "avoid threatening to Muslims as well as Pakistanis." Qari Hanif Jhulandari, Secretary General of Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia vehemently condemned the recent statements by US presidential candidate Tom Tancredo who had suggested that US government should bomb Mecca and Madina in Saudi Arabia and officials threatening military strikes inside Pakistan and the passage of a Pakistan-specific bill in the US Congress.
"This aggressive and obnoxious statement of Tom Tancredo has caused grave concern among the general public in Pakistan as well as the Muslims of the world and should be discussed in both houses of the parliament," Qari Hanif Jhulandari said.
Nawabzada Mansoor Ahmed Khan, chief of Pakistan Democratic Party has strongly reacted on the US policies and threatening voices against Pakistan as well as Muslim Ummah. He said that US Republican presidential candidate Tom Tancredo would have to apology on his remarks, otherwise he would have to face severe consequences. He appealed to the moderates and Muslims living in United States not to cast their votes in favour of republicans if they nominate Tom Tancredo.
