Over 45 medical teams of the federal, provincial and Punjab governments are providing comprehensive health services to flood-stricken people in collaboration with different national and international NGOs and respective district governments in flood-hit areas of Balochistan, the Provincial Health department sources told APP here on Sunday.
They said that medical teams of Army and Frontier Corps Balochistan are also delivering health facilities and they have established free medical camps in the flood-stricken districts. These camps are functional round the clock to keep vigil on situation related to health issues of the flood-affected people.
The doctors are providing health facilities relating to skin infections, malaria, snakebite and ENT cases. All essential medicines including anti malaria, antibiotics and vaccines are available in sufficient quantity at these camps.
Meanwhile, the Executive District Officer (Health) Nasirabad told this news agency that the government is providing ample health facilities to flood victims in the district in collaboration with various NGOs. He said that a six member medical team of WHO and UNICEF headed by Dr Qurrat-ul-Ain has established its medical camp in the district headquarters and its doctors are providing free health facilities to flood stricken people.
