The second International Islamic Economic, Cultural and Tourism conference will be held in Bangkok on September 7 to 9. The conference is being jointly organised by Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Government of Thailand, and Thai Islamic Trade & Industrial Association (TITIA).
It will be held under the patronage of General Surayud Chulanont, Prime Minister of Thailand. The purpose of the conference is to provide a suitable platform to foster closer business and economic ties between member countries and the Muslim community of Thailand through culture and tourism.
It will bring together business leaders and policy makers towards formulating specific proposals to reduce impediments to regional co-operation and development. It will also provide opportunity to the Muslim business community to interact with their counterparts in the Islamic countries.
Concurrently with the conference a mini exhibition will also be held for more than 50 brands from various Thai manufacturers and companies attending the event. Participants from OIC countries may also display catalogues, brochures of their companies and small samples in the mini exhibition.
