Ghulam Mustafa Khar former governor of Punjab and senior leader of PPPP in a press conference here on Wednesday said that in case of a deal between Benazir Bhutto and General Musharraf, workers having allegiance to thoughts of Zulifkar Ali Bhutto, founder chairman of PPP would go on one side.
While workers having thoughts in line with Benazir Bhutto chairperson of the party would follow the other way. He said it was unfortunate that neither political nor the government side had the courage to take into confidence masses on matters of ongoing deal.
He averred that it appeared that the deal between Benazir and General Musharraf was being made under duress. He said any government formed under this deal would not last six months and would face wrath of masses.
Criticising West, the former governor said that it never gave any importance to the interest of our country. Khar warned that any unholy political alliance formed in Pakistan would bring terrorism to provinces of Sindh and Punjab.
Mustafa Khar said that current eventualities were the second phase of things. He predicted that there would be change of political scenario in the third phase. Former governor of Punjab said that General Musharraf was currently in no-win position.
Giving opinion on terrorism, Khar said this was not initiated by people of Pakistan, but was rather initiated to move ahead, interests of super powers. He said Pakistan was the property of its people, who would stand to the task of defending it, when any eventuality occurred.
The PPPP leader on a question declined the notion that he had parted ways with the party. However, he said that in the past, he had four times contested elections in independent capacity and if any other scenario arose, this option was there.
