Chairman Nadra Brigadier Saleem Moin on Wednesday briefed the Federal Minister for Communication Muhammed Shamim Sidqui about electronic toll system, a software project developed by Nadra for National Highway Authority and Motorway Police.
The Nadra has developed the E-Toll system on the request of Ministry of Communication to install efficient and transparent toll collecting system on Motorway. Giving practical demonstration to the minister at Islamabad Toll Plaza, Nadra Chairman highlighted various aspects of the system like issuance and fixation of vehicles tags, payment of toll in advance and toll plaza's operation.
Under the new system, Radio Frequency Identification Device (RDF) chip will be allotted to vehicle entering the Motorway to collect toll. The system has ability to identify all six types of vehicles categorised by Motorway Police and National Highway Authority.
