German women soccer coach Monika Staab will act as selector when the third National Women Football Championship will begin from August 16 to 24 at Islamabad's Jinnah Stadium. Monika is in Pakistan for a month women football training Programme and she is also conducting a coaching camp of Pakistani women footballers at headquarters of four provinces and regions.
High-profile trainer of Germany's famous FFK Frankfurt Football Club had already conducted same kind of clinics at Karachi (25-28 July) and Quetta (30 July-2 August), and completed his assignment at Lahore on Thursday with Arif Siddiqui, Bilal Ahmed Butt and Uzma Zaidi acting as co-ordinator at Wapda Sports Complex, Kot Lakhpat's Clinic. She will left for Islamabad on Friday to run Clinics from 11th-15th August for women belonging to Peshawar, FATA, Northern Areas, AJK and Islamabad followed by assignment as member selection committee.
"Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)'s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat's work on Women soccer a milestone and I hope to raise a strong national women team to compete in coming 16th edition of Asian Women Championship by picking talented, deserving players from my nine-day assignment at Islamabad where one of the visitors will be Afghanistan," said Monika.
Monika will be the third foreigner to appear in the National Women Championship after Philippine's Cristina Ramos (2005) and Qatar's Dr Aneesa Al Hitmi (2006).
