EC to submit voters enrolment plan on August 16

Secretary Election Commission Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad has said that Election Commission of Pakistan will present a voters enrolment plan before the Supreme Court on August 16. "EC will submit its plan on enrolment of voters in the electoral rolls to Supreme Court on August 16," Dilshad told APP on Saturday.
A meeting was held at the Commission office between the Chief Election Commission and the petitioners on directives of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. Representatives of petitioners, Latif Khosa, Farooq Naik and others attended the meeting. Attorney General Malik Muhammad Qayyum was also present.
The Chief Election Commissioner assured the participants to fully accomplish the directions of the apex court. "The Election Commission will follow the directions of the Supreme Court about enrolment of voters in letter and spirit," Dilshad said quoting the Chief Election Commissioner Justice (Retd) Qazi Muhammad Farooq.
