Test opener Imran Farhat has decided to sign a contract with the Indian Cricket League (ICL) and also informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about his decision. Imran Farhat was the first Pakistani cricketer among the 5-6 cricketers who are going to sign a contract with the ICL.
Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, Imran Farhat said he did not see his future as bright in Pakistan. "There are very few test matches in a year, therefore, he could not get much chances in the presence of Muhammad Hafeez, Salman Butt and Imran Nazir," he added.
According to sources, organisers of ICL also approached the other Pakistani cricketers including Azhar Mahmood, Asim Kamal, Abdur Razaque and Muhammad Yousaf for playing the ICL.
Azhar Mahmood and Asim Kamal have reportedly decided to play the ICL while Abdur Razaque and Muhammad Yousaf who were dropped from the Twenty20 squad are considering the pros and cons of the offer. Both have also not signed the central contract with the PCB, the sources claimed.
