Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Thursday said the reform agenda implemented by the government has resulted in the record development and growth and the government will ensure continuity of policies to maintain growth momentum.
He was talking to a traders delegation led by Tanvir Ahmad Sheikh, president, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), which called on him at his National Assembly Chamber in the parliament. The prime minister said that consistency, transparency and continuity of economic policies had resulted in changing the economic landscape of the country.
He said the country has come out of low growth and low investment syndrome and the continuation of reform process would help establish the economic foundations wherein the positive trend will be further consolidated.
Shaukat Aziz said the 7.5 percent average growth rate achieved over the last seven years has positioned Pakistan among the faster growing economies of Asia, adding the per capita income and the size of the economy have doubled during the last seven years, reflecting success of our economic policies.
