PTCL union workers stage demonstration

Pakistan Telecommunication Employees Union workers held a protest demonstration outside Gateway Telephone Exchange Karachi on Thursday against appointments on contract basis.
Addressing on the occasion, union central chairman Zulfiqar Sangi flayed the PTCL administration for recruiting workers on contract basis and termed the act condemnable.
He warned the administration to desist from this unjustified practice, otherwise a massive agitation would be launched against them. He demanded that PTCL should also announce pay scales for its workers, besides raising salaries and house requisition. He said that the movement of workers has already begun from Karachi and it would continue till the solution to all problems of workers.
