The Engineering Development Board (EDB) is planning for taking a delegation of engineering companies to "European Machine Tools Show 2007" (EMO), to provide engineering sector an opportunity to study modern manufacturing techniques, official sources told APP here on Friday.
The trade fair, to be held in Hannover, Germany from September 17-22, would help Pakistani engineers to observe latest technological trends in the metalworking field, benchmark their products against international standards to compete globally, the sources said.
"The country has lot more investment opportunities in the field of component manufacturing because of double digit growth in the auto and household goods sector", they added.
EMO would showcase a wide spectrum of products and technologies where Pakistani investors will get acquainted with the latest manufacturing techniques, giving them competitive edge in the global supply chain, they said.
EMO is regarded as a must by experts for companies belonging to major industrial sectors like machine construction, car making and their parts suppliers, aerospace, precision mechanics and optics, shipbuilding, medical engineering, tools and mould construction, and steel and lightweight engineering.
