The City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) is not taking any measure to renovate the Pirwadhai bus stand and remove the encroachment from the terminal area causing hardships for commuters. It has also failed to maintain law and order in the area, which is a safe haven for drug pushers, cheaters and pick-pocketeers.
The bus terminal and its adjacent areas are giving a deserted look due to broken roads, faulty sewerage system, traffic mess and encroachments all around it. Pirwadhai is the central bus terminal of the twin cities and a hub of traffic leading to different parts of the country from federal capital and Rawalpindi city.
According to a survey, Pirwadhai bus terminal is in the grip of criminals as one can see the drug addicts, pick pocketeers and cheaters roaming in and around the bus stand. Police is not paying heed to the miseries and agonies of the people coming from and going to every nook and corner of the country using this bus stand.
