In Short: Telkom sees 30 percent mobile users jump

Indonesia's top telecommunication firm, PT Telkomunikasi Indonesia said on Tuesday that it expects the number of mobile phone users in the country to grow more than 20 million this year, representing a gain of about 30 percent.
Rinaldi Firmansyah, Telkom's president director, also said he was optimistic that the largest company on the Jakarta bourse would meet its targets for this year.
PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel), the cellular phone arm of Telkom, controls more than half of more than 70 million mobile phone users in Indonesia.
The number of mobile phone users in Indonesia have been growing in a rapid pace in recent years and are expected to top the 100 million mark next year, two years ahead of some experts and analysts had expected.
Telkomsel managed to signed more than five million new users this year, taking its total mobile phone subscribers to 42.8 million, ahead of its full year target of 42 million.
