Rahul Dravid does not foresee himself playing next Cricket World Cup and captain insists India has unhealthy obsession with quadrennial cricketing extravaganza.
"It is probably unlikely I will play another World Cup. I am already 34 and by next World Cup, I would be 38. The game is getting younger and people coming on," Dravid said. "I genuinely believe we have unhealthy obsession with World Cup and build up starts too early in India. We should have done better with team we had.
I went there with positive set of mind but things did not work out." India's disastrous Caribbean campaign saw his side losing to Bangladesh and failing to reach Super Eight stage.
Meanwhile, Dravid is looking at youngsters in squad to improve his side's one-day performances as they start hectic period of limited overs cricket. India face England in seven ODIs series starting August 21 in Southampton and play total of 12 more ODIs before end of year, including those against Australia & Pakistan.
"Young guys are ones who are going to have to drive us. They must show eagerness and push other guys to raise bar. I will look for them to have big performances." Dravid says final line-up for ODI series against England is not set in stone, adding younger players have a chance to put their case forward for selection.
