Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Syed Raza Ali Gillani has said the cost of construction could be reduced by adopting modern methods in the housing sector. He urged Housing department officers to follow latest techniques in the construction of housing colonies so that low cost houses could be provided to the people.
He expressed these views during presiding over a department meeting here on Wednesday. High ranking officers of Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) were also present.
The minister directed that advanced technique would be adopted to build the houses to be constructed under the supervision of PHATA so that financial budget on their construction could be minimised as well as durability would also be ensured of such residential units.
Syed Raza Ali Gillani said private developers ought to allocate special quota for the low-income people in their housing schemes to benefit the common man. He said that revolutionary changes has been evolved after giving the status of industry to housing sector.
