CMPak Limited has been given a licence by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to provide cellular services in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Northern Areas (AJK & NA), said in press release issued on Thursday. A signing ceremony to this effect was held In Islamabad on August 23.
The contract, in this regard was signed by Guo Yonghong, CEO, CMPak Limited and Chairman, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, Shahzada Alam Mailk at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Guo Yonghong said, "It would be our prime objective to be rated as the best cellular service provider in Pakistan by expanding our service area to every corner of the country which is to be backed by excellent after sales service. Acquiring AKJ and NA licence would certainly help CMPak Limited to extend its service coverage into northern parts of this country".
Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Rao Sikandar Iqbal, Minister for Defence, Zahid Hamid, Federal Minister for Privatisation and Luo Zhao Hui, ambassador of China to Pakistan.
Luo Zhao Hui, ambassador of China to Pakistan said, CMPak is the biggest project among all the Chinese investments. It is emissary of friendship between Pakistan and China. It is of great meaning that under the support the Pakistan government PTA, awarded the licence of AJK&NA to CMpak.-PR
