Federal Minister for Pakistan Railway Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has ordered his officials to accelerate work on development projects to provide relief and better facilities to passengers. "The work on the double rail line between Khanawal to Raiwind should be accelerated to accomplish the project in time," he said.
He said in a meeting here on Thursday at the Pakistan Railways Headquarters departure and arrival time schedules throughout the country should be punctual and regular. He also ordered the rail officer to ensure the availability of water, cleanliness and other facilities for passengers. "All Pakistan Railways employees should be polite, cordial, and co-operative," he added.
He said that stern action would be taken against railways employees, involved in the misbehaviour and misconduct attitude with the passengers. Pragmatic measures would be taken to provide facilities of international standard to the clients of the Pakistan Railways he maintained. He directed the high up of the freight and passengers trains to take more administrative and financial steps to increase the income of the department.
