Managing Director Sui Southern Gas Company, Engineer Munawwar Baseer Ahmad is being appointed Chairman Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda). Notification to this effect is expected to be issued on Monday (today), it is reliably learnt.
Baseer has 32 years experience having held senior management and engineering positions with leading multinationals in the USA, Middle East and Pakistan in the oil, gas, technology and engineering industries. A professional registered engineer in USA (Texas) and Pakistan he is a member of PIP, MAP, CSP and IEEE. He holds a B.Sc. Engg. degree from UET, Lahore and M.Sc. Engg. and MBA from University of Houston, Texas, USA.
He is also a Director on the Boards of PIP, SNGPL and ISGSL and had successfully headed PEPCA for two years before joining SSGC.
