National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has for the first time in Pakistan introduced the insurance policy for crops. This policy would help assist the growers in making up of their losses in the wake of drought, flood and other seasonal hazards besides it would also ensure agriculture development and enhancement in the agriculture output, a private television reported.
The bank has started providing loans amounting to Rs 20,0000 to Rs 40,0000 to the growers, besides the agriculture engineering units would also be provided loans.
