Formidable Faisalabad Yellow gained three more points to take a giant leap towards the quarter-finals platform here on Wednesday in the 19th National U-18 Soccer Championship 2007 by thrashing Pak Friends 6-0 at the Model Town Football Club Ground.
Lahore City Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood inaugurated the 16-team event on Tuesday night under floodlights whose final will be played on September 7. After beating Sindh 3-1 on Tuesday, Faisalabad Yellow went to the top of Group-A with another win. They struck thrice in each half to frustrate the team starting the campaign by beating Wohaib FC 3-0 on the inaugural day. The match commissioner was Yunus Kiani while Mian Abdul Bari was referee assessor. The referees were Asif Kiani, Rana Naseer Ahmed, Rauf Bari and Shams Pervez.
THURSDAY (30 AUGUST) FIXTURE:
Pak Punjab v Karachi (4.30pm - Faisal Town)
AJK v Northern Areas (4.30pm - Model Town)
PMC v Balochistan (8pm - Model Town)
NWFP v Afghan FC (10pm - Model Town).
