As per directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the work on removal of encroachments impeding traffic flow will be completed before September 10. The DCO Karachi, Javed Hanif held a meeting in this connection on Wednesday which was attended by attended by the DIG Traffic Wajid Durrani, EDO Revenue Saleh Farooqi, EDO Transport Dr Tahir Soomro besides senior officials of City Government, Cantonment Boards and Towns.
The meeting asked the Revenue Department, local police, traffic police and transport department to prepare a schedule for carrying the encroachment removal work of and submitted it to the DCO by Thursday.
They also decided to form four teams comprising representatives of concerned organisations to carry work in various traffic zones as per the priorities fixed. The DCO directed to complete the encroachment removal operation before the start of Ramazan.
