A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC), comprising Chief Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed and Justice Faisal Arab on Tuesday granted bail to an alleged missing fireman of the City Government's Fire Brigade Department.
Petitioner Nazia Asif submitted that her husband Muhammad Asif Siddiqi went to the office of City Government at Civic Centre on July 19, where he met with District Officer Ehsan Mirza and also informed the family through telephone about his presence there. Nazia moved High Court with the pray for directives to the authorities concerned to ascertain the whereabouts of her spouse.
Later, the fireman was found detained in Landhi Prison, arrested in narcotics case registered with Police Station Zaman Town for allegedly having 80 grams of charas. According to police record, the fireman was arrested from Korangi on July 24 while on the same day he was produced before Judicial Magistrate (South) JM-II, and the JM sent him to Judicial Custody, in the narcotics case.
