Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad visited various parts of the city on Tuesday night to personally assesses the development projects, crime control and traffic system. During a 3-hour visit the governor also visited graveyards on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat. Ebad also visited the North Nazimabad Gymkhana to review the construction work.
The Federal Minister, Babar Khan Ghauri, City Nazim Karachi, Syed Mustafa Kamal and Town Nazim, Mumtaz Hameed briefed the governor about undergoing work on the Gymkhana. He was told that the Gymkhana is being established after removing encroachments on 5 acres of land in Block-H of North Nazimabad. Availing the opportunity of the Governor's visit, the area people appreciated his initiatives and further requested him to take personal interest in completing the project in time.
People informed Ebad that removing encroachments have reduced the crime rate besides adding scenic beauty, recreational facilities in the area. Ebad directed the Town Nazims to ensure civic facilities and flawless traffic arrangement in their respective areas.
The Governor also ordered police officials for taking effective measures to control crime in the area assuring full support to eliminate encroachment. He offered fateha at the graves of his father and mother. Later, Ebad visited different camps set up near graveyards by the MQM and other organisations and conversed with the organisers and people waiting to see him.
