The Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) has granted bail to Ume Tayyaba Dua, daughter of Maulana Abdul Aziz, Khateeb of Lal Masjid against a surety bond of Rs 50,000 in Rangers killing case. The court has also granted interim bail to Humaira Ghazi, widow of th late Abdul Rashid Ghazi.
The judge of the Anti-Terrorist Court No 1 Chaudhry Habibur Rehman, resumed hearing of the cases against Aziz family on Thursday. The defence counsel pleaded that police have failed to prove the allegations levelled against the ladies, which proves that concocted cases were filed against them.
The learned judge accepted the argument of the defence counsel and granted bail to both the ladies. The court granted interim bail to Humaira Ghazi and asked the lawyers to give further argument on next hearing fixed on September 3. It may be recalled that the court had already accepted the bail of Ume Tayyaba Dua in four other cases and it was the last case against her that was pending in ATC.
