The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to appoint Usman Khalid Mirza, a senior income tax official, as Member Direct Taxes (MDT). Sources told Business Recorder on Thursday that Secretary General Revenue Division met Mirza along with the outgoing Member DT Salman Nabi.
Mirza has worked at different senior positions in the field formations and also worked as acting Member DT at several occasions. The FBR was considering different names for the slot of Member DT, however, the news was confirmed when Mirza had a long meeting with the FBR chairman. The notification of his appointment is likely to be issued on Friday.
