The profit after tax of Kot Addu Power Company Limited (Kapco) has declined by 6.1 percent or Rs 325.953 million as the company earned Rs 4,991.409 million in the financial year ended June 30 as compared to Rs 5,317.362 million earned in the corresponding period last year.
The earning per share of the company stood at Rs 5.67 in the period under review against Rs 6.04 in the same period last year. The board of directors of the company in its meeting, held on Thursday, recommended a final cash dividend for the year at rupees three per share, that is, 30 percent.
The sales of the company surged to Rs 37.086 billion in 2007 financial tear as compared to 32.883 billion in 2006 financial year. The other operating income of the company also slightly increased to Rs 457.322 million in this period against Rs 427.874 million earned previously.
On the other hand, company's cost of sales increased to Rs 28.343 billion in this period against Rs 22.988 billion in the same period last year. The administrative expenses of the company also remained up to Rs 289.613 million against Rs 200.901 million previously. The company's profit before tax stood at Rs 7,583 million in 2007 financial year as compared to Rs 8,596.512 million earned in 2006 financial year.
