A larger bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC) headed by senior puisne judge of SHC, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osman on Monday adjourned the hearing of petition relating to May 12 incident and other related incidents till September 6 after detailed arguments of amicus curiae, advocate Khalid Anwer.
A seven-member bench was hearing a petition, which was made on a report of SHC Registrar, about the incidents of May 12. The bench was constituted by Chief Justice SHC, Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed to take up the matter about incidents of May 12 and other connected applications.
As the matter came up for hearing before the larger bench, senior lawyer, Khalid Anwer, who was appearing as amicus curiae, presented detailed arguments in respect of the questionnaire of advocate Kazi Faez Isa, another amicus curiae.
Advocate Khalid Anwer raised various queries, including role of police in the incidents of May 12, 2007 and other authorities concerned. After hearing the advocate Khalid Anwer the bench also partly heard the arguments of advocate Kaez Faez Isa and it adjourned the proceedings till Thursday.
