A meeting of Sindh Abadgar Board (SAB) presided over its chief Abdul Majeed Nazamni has expressed great concern over the life and property losses in the flood-hit areas of the province. The meeting condemned the attitude of government departments concerned for not playing any role in saving Dadu, Qambar and Larkana districts, which were badly affected by flood and rains.
It demanded immediate relief package for affected people of the province and stern action against corrupt officials for their corruption and negligence, which caused great losses of lives and properties.
It also demanded that the government take especial measures for rehabilitation of people and infrastructure. The meeting called for impartial distribution of water among farmers. It condemned the policy of Ministry of Trade and termed it anti-agriculture sector.
85 percent economy of the country is based on agriculture while textile, sugar, rice and flourmills 100 percent depended on the agriculture. Abdul Majeed Nazamani said that check and balance on the export and import trade and as an agriculture country we import the food goods from other countries. He appealed to the Prime Minister to reduce the fuel tax 43% by which would boost the agriculture sector.
