The Pakistan Readymade Garments Technical Training Institute (PRGTTI) has completed a training course of the first batch of students from Fata, being designed under the Fata Youth Skill Development Programme. The Smeda and the NWFP in Lahore have designed the course being implemented by the Fata Development Authority (FDA).
The institute launched the course in April where 16 students from Fata completed a four-month course in dress making and tailoring technique. The students are now fully skilled to start up their own business or work as machine operator in garment factories. Almost all the students from Fata trained in the first batch have been offered employment by readymade garment manufacturers in Punjab.
Certificate distribution ceremony to the first batch of students from Fata would be held here on Tuesday at PRGTTI on September 4. Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers Association Chairman Ijaz Khokar will be chief guest in the certificate distribution ceremony.
