Muslim Students Federation (MSF), a students' body of PML-N, on Monday announced that an overwhelming number of students would accord a rousing welcome to their leader Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at Islamabad Airport on September 10 and thwart any possible attempt by the government to hijack this historic event.
Central Information Secretary of MSF Shaikh Imran Liaquat said this, while talking to media persons here. He said MSF and student organisations of other All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) parties would take part in the event. He said students would brush aside any possible attempt of the government, like imposition of section 144, to sabotage their programme to welcome Nawaz Sharif.
Imran added the caravans from different parts of the country would start reaching Islamabad on September 8. He said they had started campaigning to mobilise common man across the country.
On the day of Nawaz Sharif's arrival national flags would be hoisted on every house of the capital and buildings would be illuminated, he said. Answering to a question, Imran Liaquat said the government was trying to mislead the people that PML-N top leaders would be sent back from the airport. He warned the government that any such attempt would not be tolerated and in such a case the government would be responsible for the law and order situation.
Pointing out the deportation of Shahbaz in 2004 he said things now had changed, as judiciary was free. Under the clear directions of Chief Justice of Pakistan that no hurdles should be created in return of exiled leaders.
