The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) on Wednesday termed the statement of Saudi Arabian spokesman about Sharifs' return as baseless, saying it was part of the propaganda to stop exiled former prime minister from coming back.
Speaking at a news conference, PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq said no tactic can stop Sharif brothers from coming their homeland following the historic verdict of the apex court. He repeated that there would be no change in the return schedule of Sharif family and they would land in Islamabad on September 10.
He questioned that how a spokesman of any country could conceal his name while making such an important statement. "This is a part of the seven-year-long propaganda of rulers against the former prime minister and his family," he maintained.
Raja Zafarul Haq said the PML(N) respects the Saudi authorities as they played a moral role while Sharif family was in trouble and provided asylum after 14 months. Besides Saudi government, he said some other personalities also played a positive role in arranging asylum.
As long as Sharif family lived in Saudi Arabia, it honoured the rules and regulations of the land and left for London after formally meeting with the leadership of the Kingdom, he claimed. Initially, he said the government expressed that it would accept and honour the decision of the apex court, but with the passage of time rulers again adopted traditional behaviour to propagate the issue.
"Under Article 190 of the Constitution, the government is not only bound to accept any decision of the court, but also bound to implement it in letter and spirit," he contended.
He said he has written to the IGs all the provinces, including ICT administration as well as dispatched a copy to the Registrar of the Supreme Court for not hindering the return of Sharif family, informing them about the legal and constitutional importance of the decision.
