The income tax department has decided to set up a tax facilitation centre (TFC) at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) to facilitate the business community.
"We are well aware of the problems of the business community in filing the income tax returns and all out efforts are being made to resolve these problems and provide maximum facilities to the taxpayers", said Income Tax Commissioner (Audit) Irfanul Haq Baber, while talking to members of RCCI during his visit to the Chamber.
He told the business leaders that the officials of the income tax department would visit all the stakeholders in Rawalpindi to apprise them about the facilitation in filing their tax returns.
Irfanul Haq Baber requested the RCCI leadership to support the income tax department in establishing the tax facilitation centre (TFC) in the Chamber. " "The TFC would provide information for filing returns in order to avoid problems in future", he added.
He told the businessmen during the meeting about the main points for filing the income tax returns and asked them that the filing returns properly the business community would save their precious time.
Speaking on the occasion, RCCI President Dr Hasan Sarosh Akram said the visit of income tax officials to the Chamber was a good omen and it would help address the grievances of the business community in this regard.
Sarosh announced that the tax facilitation centre (TFC) in the Chamber would work from September 15 to 30 to facilitate the income taxpayers, adding: "The Chamber would not only provide forms to taxpayers, but also help them in correctly filling up the form."
He asked the taxpayers that without waiting for last dates for filing their tax returns they should file their returns as early as possible. He also asked the income tax department to make the forms easy so that the business community file them easily.
