District Nazim Vehari has imposed a ban on rallies and processions for 30 days, under section 144 of the CrPC. According to notification, there is prohibition on staging demonstrations, display of firearms, and dissemination of any information, which can spur sectarian or communal hatred in society.
DN S. Shahid Mehdi Nasim Shah stated in his orders that loudspeaker could not be used for any purpose other than prayer call (Azaan) and Friday Sermon (Khutba) in Arabic.
