Visa has announced four-month photography competition for Visa cardholders across Asia Pacific. This was state by Amer Pasha, country manager, Visa International along with Danish Tapal, Secretary, Amateur Photographers Association of Pakistan and Tapu Javari, Senior Pakistani Photographer, while addressing a press conference on "Visa Moving Images" here on Thursday.
He said that those Visa cardholders having an eye for taking photographs were invited to take part in "Visa Moving Images" competition. Moreover, cardholders can submit upto three photographs for each per category which should be based on each element of the Olympic Games motto 'Faster', 'Higher', 'Stronger' and the last category is on 'China', the host country of Olympic Games 2008, he said
Four winner photographers in each of the competition categories will receive Visa packages for two persons to fly Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, he added.
He elaborated that web site had been created for competition by which company would display short-listed participants besides providing a facility for visitors to vote for best photograph and most recipient of vote has an opportunity to win an additional prize.
Pasha hoped that competition was an opportunity for Visa cardholders to use creativity for capturing the 'image that speaks thousand words', adding that pictures had an ability to link languages with others.
Danish said that theme would be inspired for Pakistani Photographers besides facilitating them to avail an opportunity for exposing their talents at an international level.
Tapu said that participants should try to understand the basic theme of the contest, which would help them to capture unique photos. A panel of judges comprising the four professional photographers and Visa executives will select each category winner. Four winners will be given Visa package for two to the 2008 Olympic games which includes air fare, accommodation and tickets to the games plus $5,000 in spending money credited to their Visa account.
