The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has grieved the death of Attiq Ahmed Qadri after being badly injured. Bar President Ehsan, Secretary Sarfraz Cheema and other office bearers held the government responsible killing of lawyers in Sindh.
They told reporters that the government had failed to maintain law and order and safeguard the lives. They said the government should make some special arrangements for the security of the members bar and the bench. They said attack by a party worker on Sindh High Court was on the behest of the government only to undermine the judiciary and to pressurise the bar members.
They said lawyer would not bow before such harassment and pressure tactics of the government and would continue their struggle for rule of law, independence of judiciary and strengthening of democracy in the country. They also urged the government to arrest the murderers of Raja Riaz and Attiq Qadri and demanded compensation for their families.
