The Ministry of Women Development has established Family Protection and Rehabilitation Centre for Women in Islamabad, costing Rs 23.262 million. Sources told Business Recorder here on Monday that Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP) had approved the project five years ago.
Even after the passage of scheduled period, the project remained in doldrums due to non-utilisation of funds. However utilization during the last fiscal remained Rs 2.352 million whereas cumulative utilization remained Rs 9.362 million at the end of scheduled completion time, they said.
Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) allocation for the project for 2007-08 is Rs 5.382 million. The scheduled completion period of the project was 2007. It was later extended till June 2009. Moreover, the Ministry started IT training for elected lady representatives costing Rs 15.410 million approved by the DDWP five years ago.
