Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad has assured of all possible co-operation to get relief for Petroleum Dealers Association without over-burdening the people. He issued necessary instructions to concerned authorities for taking action against illegal sale of petroleum products and "tin stations".
He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA), led by its Chairman Abdul Sami Khan, which called on him at Governor House on Wednesday.
The delegation members apprised the Governor about their negotiations with the Ministry of Petroleum and recalled that on the occasion of dealer's strike last month, the situation took a positive turn because of Governor's personal interest. They thanked the Governor for his co-operation and appreciated his efforts.
During the meeting the Governor pointed out that for solving any issue, the dialogue leads to a positive direction and solution achieved as a result thereof proves lasting. He observed that petroleum dealers adopted a better path by ending their strike and effort for every possible step would be made to solve their long pending problems.
Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad assured that federal government would be approached to have the rate of their commission raised to an appropriate level without over-burdening the people. He promised to consider their suggestion for taking action against fake fuel stations and to check illegal sale of petroleum under the supervision of Town Nazims and issued necessary instructions to the concerned authorities in this regard.
Taking sympathetic notice of dealers proposals on the issue of lease of petrol pumps set up on government land, the Governor issued directive for making headway on this count.
