Four people were killed, while 11 others sustained injuries when a college bus hit a Suzuki van at charring cross, here on Wednesday. Police and Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the spot and shifted the victims to the hospital for medical treatment.
In-charge Traffic Police Meranabad Circle Inspector Sardar Shakeel told APP that the driver could not control the bus due to brake failure, as result of which it hit the Suzuki van. The driver of the Bus, Muhammad Iqbal has been arrested. According to the detail, a local Suzuki van (RPT 5006) carrying passengers was on its way to Raja Bazar, when reached near the charring cross, was hit by a bus of Government FG College Kashmir road Cantonment (Saddar) (RIR 6952). All of the victims were passengers of the Suzuki van.
The bodies and the injured have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) where four of the injured are stated to be in precarious condition. The four victims of the accident are Sheikh Dildar s/o Sheikh Abdul Latif, Muhammad Ali s/o Habib-ur-Rehman, Chandways Akhtar s/o Pervez Akhtar. Identity of the fourth deceased could not be ascertained.
