Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) vigilance team visited M/s Shaikh Oil Mills, Korangi Industrial Area and M/s Farooque Oil Mills Karachi, exercised under the supervision of the Director Conformity Assessment along with Deputy Director (CA) and Consumer Liaison Officer, PSQCA.
The vigilance team sealed the stock of M/s Shaikh Oil Mills, Karachi against the violation of the relevant clause of PSQCA Act VI of 1996 and Pakistan Standards PS 221-2003 and PS 2858-2003.
The powers and functions of Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority are laid down in Chapter III, Section-8 of PSQCA Act VI of 1996 that also include: The examination of manufacturing plants for the designated products of processes for approval of mark of the authority, and to stop manufacture, storage and sale of such products which do not conform to the Pakistan or any other country's standards recognised by the authority.-PR
