The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawyers forum condemned President Pervez Musharraf for trying to be re-elected as the president burned his effigy at the Lahore High Court Bar premises.
The President, Lawyers Forum, Nasir Bhutta while addressing the members gathering said the lawyers' community had never allowed any dictator to rule the country and vowed to continue their movement against present regime too.
Referring to the PML (N), he said leadership is already fighting against the dictatorship and has a clear stance in this regard. Bhutta said lawyers believe in rule of law and supremacy of constitution as prerequisite to strengthen democracy.
He said lawyers stood as winner in the struggle against independence of judiciary and hope to win their fight against General Musharraf's re-election as president of Pakistan. The lawyers body urged their community to stand together and participate in what they term as "phase II" struggle with equal spirit and enthusiasm.
