The Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA), NWFP Branch, and Department of Food have agreed on prices of flour in the province. The meeting, held with Provincial Minister for Food Fazal Rabbani in the chair, decided that flour mills getting government wheat quota will supply flour produced from the commodity through the specified fair price shops/points in co-ordination with District Co-ordination Officers concerned.
Ex-mill rate for 20 kg atta with 10 percent extraction of bran has been fixed Rs 295 per bag. The retail sale rate at the fair price shop/points shall not exceed Rs 305 per 20 kg bag. The dealers so appointed by the flour mills will permanently display banner at their shops indicating name of the supplying flour mill, daily atta quota and retail sale rate of atta 20 kg bag.
Field staff of Food Department and District Administration have been asked to gear up their efforts so as to make sure that the atta so released by the flour mills is distributed in fair and transparent manner among the general public.
