Police have arrested opposition leaders to bar them protest rally in front of Supreme Court. Pakistan Muslim League (N) Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, Tehmina Daultana and MMA leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed have been arrested from parliament lodges and MNA Mian Muhammad Aslam from his residence on late Saturday night to prevent further protests against President Pervez Musharraf's re-election bid, police and party officials told AFP.
"We have detained these people to prevent the holding of a protest rally in front of the Supreme Court, which may create trouble," a senior police official said on condition of anonymity.
