Youngsters who make their own meals have healthier diets as compared to their peers who do not cook their own food. Researchers from the University of Minnesota found that it is important to prepare food at home.
Those who cook food more often are more likely of reaching dietary guidelines, a private TV channel reported. However, relatively few young people regularly shop for, plan, or cook meals for themselves. Just 21 percent of young men and 36 percent of young women bought fresh vegetables every week, for example, while 44 percent of the men made a dinner with chicken, fish or vegetables at least once a week.
