Banks to receive tax challans on Sunday

Amid to facilitate the taxpayers in paying their due taxes and file income tax returns, all authorised branches of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) are likely to remain opened beyond office timings on September 29-30.
Sources told Business Recorder on Wednesday that SBP has agreed to open the SBP/NBP branches on September 29-30 till evening. In this regard, the SBP has conveyed to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) about the issuance of computerised payment receipts (CPR) to the taxpayers and extension in timing of accepting income tax challans at banks. All income tax offices may also remain open and receive returns till night during the last working days of current month.
