Pakistan Industrial Technical Assistance Centre (PITAC) has trained 437 master trainers from January-July 2007 in 16 different technical departments.
The departments that imparted training to master trainers include machine shop practice, precision die and mould making, jigs and fixtures design, press tool design, cutting tools and gauge design, air-conditioning and refrigeration, engineering draught, heat treatment techniques, inspection and measuring techniques, pneumatic controls, basic welding, auto-cad, foundry practice, woodworking pattern making and electroplating.
The PITAC representative, in a meeting apprised that its revenue increased to Rs 7.9 million during the year 2006-07 against Rs 5.31 million of the previous year. The representative said that the PITAC is also providing advisory services to industrial organisations, primarily in the private sector to solve their individual in-plant production problems including installation and maintenance techniques besides facilitating the industrial sector of Pakistan through upgrading the skills of industrial personnel and helping industries improve the quality of their products.
The PITAC is playing a pivotal role in increasing industrial production, reducing costs and expanding the scope of indigenous manufacture, and is simultaneously enhancing the skills and expertise of the industrial populace, he added.
